The NHL released the 2019-20 schedule Tuesday, revealing that the Stanley Cup-winning St. Louis Blues will raise their banner Oct. 2 when they host the 2018 champion Washington Capitals.

A Stanley Cup Final rematch takes place Oct. 26 when the Boston Bruins host St. Louis. The teams meet one more time, in St. Louis, April 2.

The Arizona Coyotes will have a new majority owner in Alex Meruelo, and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman hopes Meruelo can be the person to find a long-term arena solution and keep the team in Arizona.

Meruelo will take over for Andrew Barroway, who became the Coyotes' majority owner in 2014. Barroway will still keep a minority stake in the team. The transaction was unanimously approved by the NHL's Board of Governors at their meeting on Wednesday in Las Vegas, but the deal is expected to close sometime in July, according to Bettman.

A parade 52 years in the making will finally happen Saturday in St. Louis, when the city celebrates the Blues' first-ever Stanley Cup championship.

The Blues defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1 in Wednesday's Game 7 in Boston. The Blues joined the NHL as an expansion team in 1967 and had never before won a championship.

Ryan O'Reilly and Jordan Binnington led the Blues to a 4-1 Game 7 win in Boston on Wednesday night to capture their first NHL championship.

O'Reilly scored a goal in his fourth straight game, and Binnington stopped 32 shots on goal in the victory.

Jordon Binnington stopped 39 shots as the Blues beat the Bruins by the score of 2-1 on Thursday night to take a 3-2 series lead back to St. Louis.

The Blues evened the Stanley Cup Final 2-2 with a 4-2 victory on Monday night that was equal parts bludgeoning and buoyant. It continued a trend for St. Louis that has spanned the postseason, which is its ability to follow losses with strong efforts. Even losses as gutting as Game 3 last Saturday.

"It's the playoffs. You have to forget that game as quick as possible. It doesn't matter if it's 10-1 or 2-1. A loss is a loss. It's just another game," said forward Oskar Sundqvist, who returned to the Blues' lineup after being suspended for Game 3. "You need to refocus, and that's what we did."
